Location: Hybrid – Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to Manchester for team collaboration, events, and content
Contract: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: £28,000 with performance-based uplift every 6 months

About the Role

This is a mid-level role for someone with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in social media and/or marketing. You’ll take full ownership of our social media and digital marketing, bringing consistency, strategy, and bold creativity to everything we share.

You’ll develop content, lead campaigns, support events, and help shape the public presence of a fast-growing and deeply values-led business. We’re looking for someone proactive, thoughtful, and excited to be a key part of something small and mighty.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content

  • Lead and deliver multi-platform social media strategy (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube — possibly TikTok)

  • Create visuals, copy and video content that feels fresh, accessible, and intentional

  • Maintain rhythm, tone and consistency across Beetroot and partner platforms

  • Repurpose long-form content into short, shareable formats

  • Use scheduling and analytics tools to drive insight-led content planning

  • Manage tone of voice and brand presence across our digital channels

Campaigns & Visibility

  • Plan and run creative, values-led campaigns (including revenue-generating ones)

  • Support email marketing: segment lists, design templates, write copy, and analyse performance

  • Coordinate digital promotion for events, workshops, and partnerships

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elevate shared work

Brand & Narrative

  • Evolve and hold Beetroot’s public tone and narrative

  • Bring clarity and warmth to complex ideas

  • Find creative ways to grow brand visibility with integrity and intention

  • Connect our digital presence to our work on the ground

Who This Role Is For

We recruit based on capability, behaviours, and alignment to our values — not titles or qualifications.

You don’t have to be perfect. But you should recognise yourself in this:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a social media or marketing role

  • Strong writing and design sensibility (you know how to make things feel clear + engaging)

  • Confident creating and managing social content independently

  • Comfortable using tools like Canva, Metricool, Buffer, MailerLite, or similar

  • Able to manage your own time, priorities and workload

  • Excited to translate big thinking into digital content that connects

  • Values-led: You understand the importance of equity, care, and anti-oppression — and you want your work to reflect that

  • Enjoys creative freedom paired with shared responsibility
