We are currently recruiting for a Consultation UX/Interaction Designer within HSE’s Digital Web and Design Unit to work on our Consultation Hub. In working across the organisation to build consultations, we want people who are passionate about users, happy to work in an agile way and have the skills to enable them to work well with our different groups of stakeholders.
This role is open to part time working - Candidates will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Travel
Please note you will be required to travel to our Bootle HQ office atleast once a week.
Job description
This is a high profile position in the team with responsibility for helping set and driving delivery and performance of our consultation hub, working alongside content designers, graphic designers, performance analysts and others.
You will be managing and building online consultations using our Consultation Hub. Responsibilities will involve:
- Designing consultation pages, working with question sets, configuring response options, ensuring accessibility and analysing feedback.
- You will need to collaborate with internal teams to gather input, manage timelines, and ensure the consultation meets regulatory standards.
- Monitoring responses and generating reports for stakeholders would be required once the consultation is closed. Once trained for the consultation role there will be an opportunity to support the intranet and website team with publishing tasks and maintenance of these platforms.
- You will need to be comfortable working independently on a range of communication technologies. You will need good influencing skills and the ability to cut through a variety of competing priorities.
Person specification
Essential Skills and Criteria
- Understanding of consultations or questionnaires, including how they are developed, configured and deployed
- Awareness of HTML/CSS and how they apply to maintaining or supporting web content
- Experience of working on projects with tight deadlines and contributing to front-end design
- Understanding of how to deliver designs that offer a consistent user experience
- Awareness of user research and usability testing principles
- Experience working collaboratively in an agile environment. You will be experienced in building good working relationships in pressured environments and be an enthusiastic team-player with a proactive and collaborative attitude
- Ability to communicate technical standards clearly to senior colleagues without a technical background
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards like WCAG 2.2
