Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to work on an advanced IT system currently being implemented across the Land and Maritime domains. The primary responsibility of this role is to transition products into live service, ensuring all products are base lined and documented before release.
Additionally, the role involves managing changes to live services to ensure that routine and complex changes do not negatively impact the user experience. You will develop the transition function and collaborate with stakeholders through the design, development, and delivery phases, ensuring all changes are managed appropriately. The role involves introducing new or modified services and products, while establishing the necessary virtual and physical teams to support all programme deliverables throughout the Change Management Life cycle.
As the Transition Manager, you will be the primary contact for customers, responsible for producing and reviewing Service Designs and Transition plans for new or updated services.
Responsibilities:
- Make recommendations on go-live, early life support and service acceptance.
- Ensure all products are properly base lined and documented.
- Analyse and assess the impact of change, document change requests and action changes.
- Establish the Transition Management Function and draft the Terms of Reference necessary to formalise Transition as a programme function.
- Day to day management of product acceptance, determining whether the product is fit for purpose, assessing the readiness against agreed service acceptance criteria.
- Developing and agreeing on the Operational Readiness Check for each change and conducting the Operational Readiness Review for each change.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Service Transition Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong interpersonal skills, and excel in collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a dynamic, high-stakes agile environment.
This role demands confidence and the ability to work under pressure, all while effectively prioritising daily tasks. It also requires initiative and strong information retention skills. The individual will need to quickly identify issues and develop solutions to ensure smooth transitions.
