This SEO role is eligible for the MOD Digital Skills Allowance (DSA). The successful candidate can apply for the DSA, which provides an annual non-pensionable pay increment. Skills will be assessed by an annual MOD moderation panel against the Senior Data Architect role described in the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework. Would you like to be an integral part of one of the largest digital transformations in UK Government, and play a leading role in modernising our Defence Support processes and systems to face a rapidly changing world?
We aim to transform service delivery through the provision of cutting-edge enterprise solutions with improved outcomes for users and the MOD. We architect, design, integrate and govern coherent digital capabilities for the Support function, which accounts for up to £16 bn of MOD annual expenditure. We are looking for people who can help change the Defence Support enterprise for all Defence users, from industry partners to front line operations globally. Responsibilities
- Produce, maintain and update relevant Digital Integration Standards, Frameworks and architecture models to support change programme needs.
- Take responsibility for the assurance of Digital Integration integrity and make recommendations to ensure compliance with standards and best practice.
- Ensure models are fully integrated with wider architecture artifacts.
- Support modelling toolsets to ensure correct operation.
- Support strategic planning in an administrative capacity.
- Assist with the design and architecture of Digital Service Integration of Defence Support in line with the principles, methods and models that describe the organisation's desired future state, which enable its evolution.
- Assess constraints, develop requirements and produce designs and frameworks to support the development and deployment of consistent and efficient Digital Integrations for Defence Support’s Digital Services.
- Take strategic planning and, with the end user front of mind, develop designs, logical models, and roadmaps for future Digital Services that will underpin the strategic objectives of Defence Support.
- Provide advice and input to programmes, projects and change initiatives to ensure that the Defence Support strategies, policies and design principles are adhered to, whilst delivering customer requirements and organisational objectives.
There is a requirement to maintain and develop design strategies, principles, policy and standards, and authoring related artefacts.
You will maintain and develop good working relationships between the Defence Support CIO Architects and the relevant internal and external key stakeholders, including commercial partners. Working with the other Support CIO teams to ensure all aspects of design, governance and assurance, data and information management, ownership, security and monitoring are all reflected in the future architectures and delivered by projects, programmes and change initiatives.
The successful applicant will need to quickly gain a knowledge of the Defence Support context and working practices, and provide a significant contribution to the digital community within MOD.
