Your new role will see you take responsibility of the design governance across the Dstl Digital Estate. You will work at a strategic level to influence, and contribute to the overarching Digital direction. As a leading architect, you will provide technical design solutions to problems appreciating the needs of customers, the business and risk.

Job description
In this role you will:
• Maintain and develop design principles, policy and standards, authoring sub-strategy and related documentation.
• Listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them to make decisions based on risk and complexity.
• Turn business problems into technical design.
• Designs systems characterised by medium levels of risk, impact and business or technical complexity. Works across multiple services or a single large or complicated service.

Person specification
About you:
- You will be an established architect working within ITIL and having TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) or ISEB (Information Systems Examination Board)
- You will be an effective communicator, problem solver and leader.
- You will have worked within a governance/assurance role.
- You will have experience in writing architectural strategy, policy, processes as well as writing and reviewing technical design documentation.

Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
