About the job

Job summary

We are hiring two Senior Business Analyst's to join our Digital Change team.

As Ofsted develops more digital services it must also expand the capability of delivery teams. The experienced Senior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the wider business to analyse, understand and articulate its business needs, draw these together into requirements and processes and to oversee the maintenance and management of the process catalogue as our key systems are developed and enhanced. 

The postholder will work alongside teams across Ofsted to develop our systems and processes. They will need to understand the organisation and business needs, offer credible analysis, recommend options for a solution to the problem and be a conduit for translation between the business and the designed solution.

Business analysis qualification or equivalent professional qualification and/or equivalent experience.

Technical skills

  • Experience of leading the development of Business Analysis approaches to solve organisational problems using a range of recognised Business Analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of leading engineering and articulation of business needs into documented requirements by working with business owners and users and analysing documentation.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Project management methodologies.

Application and Shortlisting:

The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.

You will also be asked to provide information within the “Employer/Activity History” section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).

Assessment and Interview:

Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an assessment (presentation) and interview where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience skills set out in section 3 of the job specification. 

We will invite the most suitable candidates to attend a remote assessment and interview via Microsoft Teams during the week commencing Monday 12 August 2024.


Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
