Job summary

We are hiring a Senior Business Change Manager to join our Digital Change team.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, Projects and Improvement, the Senior Business Change Manager will lead activities to shape Ofsted’s approach to business change and support digital delivery by developing change strategies that align with Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) best practice. The postholder will also lead a team of Business Change and Digital Training specialists at grades B2 and B1.

This is a fantastic opportunity to further your experience in Ofsted’s well-established team. Business Change qualification such as APMG, Prosci equivalent and/or equivalent experience.

  • Experience of strategic thinking, working and exercising judgment and decision making in complex, fast paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills. Demonstrable ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.

Application and Shortlisting:

The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.

You will also be asked to provide information within the “Employer/Activity History” section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).

Assessment and Interview:

Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an assessment (presentation) and interview where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience skills set out in section 3 of the job specification. 

We will invite the most suitable candidates to attend a remote assessment and interview via Microsoft Teams during the week commencing Monday 12 August 2024.


Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
