Job description
Defence digital are looking for a Senior Data Architect who will be responsible for maintaining the architectural Information Service for Tactical Data Links (TDL). This service delivers the desired information capabilities to users whilst remaining aligned to the broader Defence Strategy, Policy and Architectures. This is a high-profile role in which the incumbent will quickly develop in order to represent the MOD TDL aims at international meetings across NATO.
Responsibilities
- Lead a dynamic team and shape the future of interoperability: Drive the management of TDL personnel and contracts, directly impacting critical operational success.
- Architect and influence global standards: Contribute to and promote UK positions on TDL Standards, with opportunities for national and international travel.
- Drive strategic innovation: Develop and implement strategies to achieve greater asset interoperability, pushing the boundaries of technological advancement.
- Managing budgets and ensure value: Oversee financial operations, working with finance and commercial teams to optimise resources and deliver exceptional results.
- Champion cutting-edge testing: Lead the eSMART interoperability testing program, ensuring seamless communication between diverse assets and delivering vital insights.

Person specification
To be successful in this you will be a strategic leader able to maintain and evolve the architectural information services, ensuring alignment with Business strategy and policy while delivering critical user capabilities. As a recognised Design Authority and developing Subject Matter Expert, you will be an influencer of technical and system design whilst being a of champion safety and environmental compliance. You will be able to translate capability and business requirements into effective solution design and guide service development. You will be a confidant leader of multidisciplinary teams. Finally you will be able to oversee system engineering and testing, coupled with a drive for innovation and continuous service improvement.
