Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: National
Successful applicants will be expected to be office based 2 days per week in any HMCTS Office (subject to business availability). The frequency may increase in the Future.

Important salary details:
New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.
Existing Civil Servants applying on promotion, will usually be appointed on the salary minimum of the new pay band, or receive an increase of 10 percent on the current base salary, whichever is higher (This is restricted to the pay maximum of the new band).
GDD:
Government Digital and Data (GDD) Profession Capability Framework and Success Profiles Frameworks. Using GDD we will then determine if you will be paid an additional allowance, on top of your basic salary. The roles are aligned to the Product and Delivery Family, Product Manager role at Product Manager level, but carries the title Senior Project Manager within DTS.
Reserve List:
HMCTS run a Reserve List, where candidates who are unsuccessful at interview by only a few points, can be offered other roles, at the same band, for up to 12 months. You will be able to view your status via the application screen. If you have been added to the Reserve List, your status will show either Merit or Reserve list.

Job Description:
You will be working closely with cross functional product teams to build delivery roadmaps. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining project teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well; identifying obstacles and helping the team to overcome them. You will have the ability to focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services and encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.
You will have good infrastructure and or digital delivery background and enjoy working in a delivery focused environment with multidisciplinary teams. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to engage stakeholders. You will take responsibility for delivery of a project through its full life cycle.
Key Accountabilities:
- Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders,
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents,
- Effectively set and communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion,
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths,
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools,
- Develop a sound project plan that suitably identifies resources and project outputs,
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations,
- Take ownership and responsibility in terms of time, quality and cost for all assigned projects or workstreams within larger projects,
- Execute project lifecycle in accordance with in-house processes, embracing Agile project delivery,
- Take an active role in supporting procurement of third-party services and ensuring commercial controls are adequate for delivering,
- Provide effective risk management.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience of working in a large digital organisation, or demonstrable understanding of large digital organisations operate in the context of this role.
- Have been accountable for successful delivery of a project or workstream,
- Prior project management experience having and supporting the work of junior grade,
- Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders to drive out needs and interpret between them.
- The capability to be responsible for deciding direction and methodology,
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Use your knowledge to give expert advice to more senior grades,
- Experience of working in an Agile environment.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working with the digital and technology products planned for the HMCTS estate.
