This is an exciting opportunity to join our Companies House Agile Delivery Team profession!
We are looking for a Technical Senior Agile Delivery Manager to oversee and deliver our technical transformation including upgrades, maintenance and legacy replacement. You'll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of our technical transformation and help shape our services so that they are modern and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of the UK's technical landscape.
At Companies House hybrid working is about achieving an effective balance between working in the office and working from other appropriate locations. We currently expect people to attend the Cardiff base office a minimum of one day a week but the exact degree of choice you have will depend on your role and your day-to-day work activities and should be agreed through discussions with your line manager.

Job description
You'll be a true leader who serves, steering from the front. Using the agile framework, you'll remove blockers and create the right environment for your multidisciplinary teams to succeed, helping them to become self-managing and creating a culture of learning and transparency.
We're looking for someone who can do the hands-on delivery of products and end-to-end services. You will see them through from initiation to live.
As part of your day-to-day role you will:
- Use your agile and scrum expertise to build a culture of continuous improvement with high performing teams.
- Identify, manage and remove team-level impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with sprint goals. Develop clear and concise escalation points.
- Provide transparency and visibility by tracking and reporting team-level delivery metrics.
- Promote user and data centred design, applying it to the data, analysis and analytics lifecycle.
- Help the organisation around the team interact in a way that maximises the value created by the team.
- Coach and mentor team members on agile values, principles and practices as well as scrum's best practices.
- Use your skills as a persuasive and engaging communicator to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Work with experts in engineering, product, analysis, business, user research, user experience design, policy development and many more to make sure your team is fully supported.
- Join a thriving community of practice, where you'll share best practice, insight and support with a bunch of other talented, expert Agile Delivery Managers.
- Research and follow technical trends in the industry. Co-ordinate and lead delivery around potential future technologies.
- Support the agile delivery community to deepen and broaden their technical knowledge and skills.

Experience and technical skills
- Strong track record of building high performing agile teams using a recognised agile delivery framework.
- The ability to assess the team's current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Experience of delivering in an agile environment in multiple phases, with a will to transfer your knowledge to data.
- You're a strong advocate for delivering minimum valuable products frequently and regularly.
- Promoting and healthy team culture, managing team dynamics and fostering a continuous improvement environment.
- A strong understanding and experience of agile principles and practices.
- Translating technical teams and facilitating relationships with business stakeholders.
- The ability to listen and communicate in a clear and concise manner at all levels.
- Having a proactive approach to learning and development of yourself and others.
- You value coaching people to learn and grow and have proven experience of doing this.
- Agile and Lean coaching.
- Strong track record of building high performing agile teams using Scrum or other relevant framework.
- Experience of delivering in an agile environment in multiple phases.
- Strong technical knowledge, ideally someone with a background in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience in a technical field.
- Experience of working in software development, engineering, testing or another technical field.
- Experience in delivering and maintaining technically complex products or services.
- Strong experience of communicating complex technical concepts to stakeholders to achieve best delivery outcomes.
- Strategic knowledge of how a service is developed, service architecture, programming languages and service maintenance.
- Ideally you will also have a recognised professional accreditation/qualification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM)/Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
