Traditional PR Lead

Reporting to the Group Account Director, you will manage and deliver reactive and feature pitching, product PR, and newsjacking initiatives, leveraging your traditional PR expertise to enhance efforts across multiple accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confidently spot and write engaging and informative reactive, feature pitching, product PR and newsjacking opportunities in the media, and spin these into stories for our clients.  
  • Provide reports on key metrics each month and work towards client metrics and KPIs.
  • Handle client communication for time sensitive content opportunities. 
  • Work strategically with account managers to support clients, targeting topics and publications to support client strategy. 
  • Secure a range of media opportunities for relevant clients which include linked online coverage, online and print brand mentions, tv spots, interviews, podcasts, radio, and print to generate coverage across high quality outlets. 
  • Host ideation sessions as required. Chairing and steering meetings to produce comprehensive and developed PR ideas. Monitor trends and the media landscape, ensuring a constant flow of fresh ideas to achieve results, and inspire the team to be doing the same. 
  • Host training sessions to ensure the wider team are able to deliver reactive, feature pitching, product PR and newsjacking content to a high standard.
  • Build and maintain relevant and targeted media lists for outreach and share with the wider team
  • Maintain good relationships with journalists and pitch stories to coverage for campaigns.
  • Inform repitching schedules, suggesting when content can be updated and reused. 
  • Confident in creating and selling-in campaign ideas that are going to meet client objectives or in support of proposals and pitches for sales.
  • Implement best practice pitching techniques to improve the agency's success with journalists.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3+ agency experience in a traditional PR role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is desirable.
  • Excellent client relation skills 
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO, traditional PR techniques and branding. Excellent knowledge of PR Software and tools including, google trends, Semrush and AHREFs.
