The Volunteer & Community Manager will be responsible for reinforcing and growing MadLab’s existing volunteer base to support the Click into Employment: Click into Community programme. You will recruit and coordinate volunteers - ranging from grassroot freelancers to industry professionals - from Stockport and Greater Manchester’s rich tech ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to digital inclusion.
This role will help source and arrange work experience for participants and will have good knowledge of local tech businesses, meetups and other networks. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged environment that serves participants of Click into Employment: Click into Community, and establishes a symbiotic relationship between the programme and wider community.
Fixed-term contract ending March 2027, 0.4 FTE - 15hrs/week

Proven track-record and experience in volunteer management or community building
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop good relationships with a diverse range of people, both at a public and senior professional level
Ability to run group sessions and develop training materials
Good oral and written communication and ability to produce progress reports using relevant statistical data
A sound understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and information governance
Strong organisational and management skills, along with adequate IT skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with tech learning programs, coding bootcamps, or similar initiatives
Experience and knowledge of supporting vulnerable people and/or those with complex needs
Commercial knowledge, experience and understanding of industry, including training needs
