Established in 2007, Armitage Online grew steadily, providing web solutions to companies both locally and more recently, internationally. However, looking ramp up growth this year, the company decided the rebrand and name change was the first step to repositioning the business.
Speaking about the change, Andrew Armitage commented, “The digital world moves incredibly quickly; the word ‘online’ dates us and doesn’t reflect the variety of work we do, or the latest best practices applied to each site we build. Although our focus is on digital delivery, website projects inevitably involve much broader consideration of business strategy and other activities that can be both on and offline. ‘Designing’ an end-to-end customer experience that is consistent across different channels is vital for digital success”.
A Digital work with a number of well known organisations with notable clients including Burnetts Solicitors in Carlisle, popular tourist attraction Windermere Lake Cruises, Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Cumbria based paper manufacturer, James Cropper plc.
Armitage explains how the recent rebrand aims to reposition the business beyond simply a development provider. “Increasingly we’re working as an extension of our clients teams in both technical and creative capacities. Many companies don’t have the in-house experience to manage their digital assets to the level that web users expect. Oversized images, poor quality graphics or simply not joining the dots between different digital channels all affect the user experience, and that will either drive return on investment or visitor perceptions”.
Adding to A Digital’s specialism in responsive design, the team brings together experience in strategy and marketing, UX/UI design, content management systems, ecommerce and hosting, with the latter provided through a partnership with Manchester based Melbourne Server Hosting. Beyond these core skills, A Digital work with various associates where a project demands additional specialisms.
