Leading Tech For Good Consultancy Aire Logic has acquired B Corp certification. Already an employee owned, tech for good consultancy Aire Logic has joined a group of 2000 B Corps in the UK who are committed to making business a force for good.
B Corps are companies verified by B Lab to meet incredibly high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The B Corp Community is a global movement dedicated to demonstrating commitment to people and the planet.
B Corps are still relatively new, the first certification of companies was in 2007, so there can be some confusion about what a B Corp is. A definition from B Lab: Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
There are five categories in the certification; governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Businesses must have a score of over 80 to qualify for B Corp certification and Aire Logic scored 108.1.
Aire Logic Co-founder Joseph Waller says "As a company that famously, frankly rather self-righteously, set the ethical bar high, we are unsurprisingly joining the community of B-Corp companies. We are looking forward to joining this group of like minded companies. Hopefully one day B Corp style standards will be a minimum for all companies world-wide"
