In The Spotlight with BRIDCON
Welcome to In The Spotlight, a series where Manchester Digital interviews its members to shed light on their work within the digital and technology industry in Greater Manchester.
In this edition, we have the pleasure of speaking with BRIDCON's Managing Partner, Gabriel Barcaru.
What does your organisation do?
We are BRIDCON, a business and management consulting company. We exist to help Start-ups and SMEs grow and adapt to dynamic and continuously changing markets, transforming ideas into feasible business models.
Our services evolve around business strategy, and we make a difference by merging strategy with human behaviour. This way, we transform growth from a costly trial-and-error journey to a predictable and measurable experience.
What do you think is currently the biggest issue facing the digital and tech industry?
The challenge facing the digital and tech industry is the technology itself – it evolved so fast in the past years and continues to evolve at the same pace. This speed of evolution is higher than the comprehension ability of the companies adopting the technology.
Digital tech creates a level of complexity that people need time to understand, delaying the adoption process and creating a burden in keeping up with new automations, integrations and new business management systems.
Furthermore, adopting any new services depends on an elaborate educational process, trust and mindset. That’s why the product-life cycles of a tech product/service are based on disruptive processes as well as a longer adoption process.
What is your organisation’s biggest achievement?
In the past years, we developed our internal capabilities, learned more, and managed to maintain a clear differentiator, offering our services with the right balance of price and speed of delivery.
A higher market demand helped us understand that we need to invest in our growth and expand faster than planned. In terms of start-ups and small businesses, we managed to cater for over 200 complex inquiries and planning to double this number in the upcoming years.
What would you consider to be your organisation’s biggest challenge?
Businesses grow when people grow. Our biggest challenge is modelling our clients’ growth mindset, helping them make informed decisions, staying away from cognitive biases and navigating the complexity of their development. Internally our biggest challenge was to retain the best talents, and we succeeded by understanding their needs and offering an environment that met their expectations.
What do you think the future looks like for Manchester’s digital and tech sector?
In the Northwest, Manchester is the region with the highest number of companies and the most significant hub for innovation. According to Hit Horizons, there are 431,549 companies registered in Greater Manchester alone.
The future of Manchester’s digital and tech sector stays in educating the market and its participants to understand the complexity of their future, acknowledge the need to integrate digital and technology into their strategies and create and maintain a solid differentiator for the years to come. The future awaits the ones that are most adaptable.
Tell us something we might not know about your company?
We believe in collaboration, integrity, responsibility, and transparency. It is our responsibility to meet the needs of our clients in terms of their products, audiences, targets and outcomes. We fix businesses and see our efforts reflected in the transformation of the decision-makers and the companies they manage.
Thank you Andy!
