CloudGuard remains a remote-first business in 2025

At CloudGuard, we’ve always believed that the best work happens when our team has the freedom to choose how and where they work.

As we step into 2025, we’re keeping our commitment to being a remote-first business. Prioritising flexibility, trust and autonomy.

The shift toward in-office work in 2025

We’ve observed a growing trend where many companies are mandating a return to the office (RTO).

For instance, Amazon has mandated a full five-day on-site workweek, while Dell has required its sales team to be in the office five days a week.

Most recently, JP Morgan has followed suit, announcing that all hybrid employees must return to the office full-time, five days a week, starting in March 2025.

Whether this is due to organisational pressure, cost-cutting measures, or a belief that in-person collaboration fosters “culture”. Many businesses are pushing for a return to traditional office environments.

To address the second issue of being better set up to invent, collaborate, and be connected enough to each other and our culture to deliver the absolute best for customers and the business, we’ve decided that we’re going to return to being in the office the way we were before the onset of COVID.

Andy Jassy, Amazon CEO

At CloudGuard, however, we’re not following this trend.

We know that our team is most productive when they have the autonomy to choose where and how they work. That’s why we’re proud to continue prioritising our remote-first culture while providing the option for those who want to come into the office. Whether it’s to collaborate with teammates, attend meetups, or simply a change of routine.

Our Manchester HQ: A flexible apace for a remote-first business

In 2024, we made the exciting decision to relocate our headquarters from London to Manchester, where tech and cyber talent is booming. Situated in the heart of Deansgate, Manchester, our new HQ was chosen to inspire, support well-being and offer versatility to our team.

CloudGuard HQ Manchester

One of the biggest draws of our new office is its exceptional amenities, chosen with careful consideration by our CEO, Matt. Located in the recently reimagined Lincoln Square peace garden.

The building offers excellent public transport links, a barista, an on-site gym and even prosecco and beer on tap (which we are surprised our team hardly use).

Not to mention the dog-friendly policy, we love seeing furry friends in the office!

A significant investment for growth in Manchester

In addition to our commitment to flexible work, CloudGuard is also making significant strides in regional growth.

In November 2024, we celebrated securing a multi-million pound investment from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). This will fuel the expansion of our Manchester hub. This exciting new investment will create up to 20 new cybersecurity jobs in the next 12 months, further establishing our presence in the region.

As part of this expansion, we will grow our workforce from 30 to 50, while continuing to prioritise AI and automation work in cybersecurity.

Our Manchester office will also play a pivotal role in collaborating with local universities on AI research and developing the CloudGuard Cyber Academy. This will offer training and industry experience to individuals across various stages of their careers.

The UK cybersecurity industry faces significant challenges, with 44% of businesses reporting a basic skills gap and 27% struggling to fill advanced roles like penetration testing.

CloudGuard’s investment in Manchester, including the launch of the Cyber Academy, is a direct response to these gaps, equipping professionals with the expertise to meet the industry’s evolving demands.

The benefits of working at CloudGuard

We believe in offering benefits that truly support our team’s well-being and work-life balance.

Our private healthcare plan, through BUPA, ensures that team members have quick access to high-quality medical care whenever they need it. We also prioritise flexible working, giving our employees the freedom to choose where and when they work.

This is especially important when 31% of UK employees report struggling with work-life balance, and 28% say it impacts their productivity.
