Code Computer Love Appointed to Spice up Sharwood's

Manchester-based Code Computer Love has been appointed by Centura Foods to develop a digital communications strategy for its flagship brand, Sharwood’s. The agency won the business following a five-way pitch and its first project will be the relaunch of the Sharwood’s website, scheduled to go live later this year.

The appointment follows Centura Foods’ announcement that it is to invest £9 million in the relaunch of the Sharwood’s brand, which will include a new logo and packaging redesign across the whole range; innovative new product launches and heavyweight marketing and advertising support. The new website will play an integral role in brand’s relaunch.

Code Computer Love director, Tony Foggett, comments, “Sharwood’s research shows that there is enormous growth potential within the Asian meal category, both amongst existing customers and new users. The website will capitalise on this potential, reflecting changing eating patterns and making Asian food relevant to all day eating. It will be food-led and will focus on making heroes out of Sharwood’s products, with lots of recipe suggestions and tips on Asian cooking. A key objective, however, is to educate and inspire the consumer so that when shoppers are at point of purchase, they have a greater knowledge of the Sharwood’s products on offer.”

Rob Devonport, head of marketing for Sharwood’s, adds, “We have developed an ambitious new category vision for Sharwood’s that will drive real growth . The new website will represent the first stage of our anticipated online activity for the brand and we already have a series of additional online promotions in the pipeline.
“We appointed Code Computer Love because they provided a strong insight as to how we could develop and improve the site in line with the brand relaunch. In addition, their credentials demonstrated impressive creativity, technical knowledge and experience of online promotion across a number of FMCG brands”.

Award-winning Code Computer Love, formed in 1999 has an impressive client list which, in addition to Centura, includes Huggies, Kotex, HMV, Dr. Martens, Bupa, Umbro and Blue Arrow.
