WHAT'S THE STORY WITH WATERSTONE'S NEW MICROSITE?

Waterstone's is looking for any budding writer who wants to be published alongside authors such as JK Rowling, Doris Lessing, Michael Rosen, Nick Hornby, Sebastian Faulks, Lauren Child, Tom Stoppard and Irvine Welsh.People simply write a story from three words long to three hundred - just as long as it fits onto the story card template.  A selection of entries are being published in an online gallery on the What's Your Story microsite at www.waterstoneswys.com and bespoke stories written by the top authors especially for the promotion will also be displayed in an online gallery and in store windows from 11th June 2008. Three lucky winners, two adults and one child from online and store entries, will be selected by a panel of judges and their stories will appear in a postcard book, alongside top authors' stories, and all profits from the sale of the postcard book go to Dyslexia Action and English PEN. As well as appearing alongside some of the world's greatest living authors, the national winners aged over 18 will also win an Arvon Writing Course and winners under 18 will receive £500 of Waterstone's vouchers.  "By regularly updating the content, we're attracting people to the site time and time again throughout the campaign period. The home page indicates how many entries the competition has received so far, there's an online gallery showcasing the entries - which are being viewed by friends and family of the entrants as well as other visitors, the entry page also contains hints and tips on how to write an award winning entry, plus there's details of the judging criteria and information on the authors. To cater for the diverse age range who will be attracted to the competition the site is extremely easy to navigate and use, and the language is suitable for children upwards."  Code Computerlove has worked as Waterstone's retained digital agency for the past couple of years. It is responsible for the Waterstone's website www.waterstones.com  as well as promotional sites.
