At Manchester Digital we like to interview our members to find out a bit more about what they do and their work in the Greater Manchester digital and technology sphere. This week we're speaking with Frankie Bisi, Marketing Manager at Digital Performance Agency connective3.
What does your organisation do?
connective3 is a digital marketing agency specialising in SEO, Content Strategy, Digital PR, PPC, Display, Social Media and CRO. We were founded in October 2019 by CEO Tim Grice, and in just two years have grown to a team of over 80 marketers across Leeds, London and Manchester.
We deliver award-winning campaigns for clients globally, with experienced international marketers delivering results across a variety of markets and languages. Our clients span a variety of sectors across Finance, Retail, iGaming, travel and many more with key clients including Wren Kitchens, Compare The Market, thortful and Ebuyer.
What do you think is currently the biggest issue facing the tech industry?
Digital skills are more in demand than ever, with companies competing heavily to find and retain team members. There’s a lot of demand within the industry right now and it can be challenging to find the right talent to keep up with business growth. This means employers need to step up when it comes to what they’re offering their team and the culture they are building. We recognise that our team are the most important part of our business, so we respect and nurture them through a variety of initiatives designed to make working at c3 a career, and not just a job.
What is your organisation’s biggest achievements?
We’re only two years old and while there have been highs and lows, we’re proud of everything we’ve achieved in such a short amount of time. Some of our biggest achievements include maintaining a client retention rate of 95% - thanks to our consistently strong results, opening our Manchester office in June 2021 and growing the team from 3-15 team members in just a matter of months.
We’ve spoken at industry leading events including BrightonSEO and International Search Summit, as well as running our own free to attend events to bring together the digital community in the north. However, our biggest achievement is our team of brilliant people who have joined us on our journey and helped us achieve our incredible growth.
What would you consider to be your organisation’s biggest challenge?
We’ve set ourselves some ambitious targets as we head into year three, but ones we are excited to achieve. With plans to expand internationally, we need to ensure we are innovating with our digital strategies, delivering rapid results, and growing the team while maintaining our great culture.
What do you think the future looks like for Manchester’s tech sector?
Headquartered in Leeds, we’ve always championed the digital industry in the north, and the future for Manchester is so exciting. There’s a real buzz in the northern digital and tech sector at the moment.
We have big plans for Manchester expansion, and it seems like a lot of other companies do too, meaning more opportunities and growth for agencies and brands based outside of London, which is amazing to see. We also have upcoming events planned in Manchester which we are really excited about.
Tell us something that we might not know about your company?
We run a yearly volunteering programme where we send one team member abroad to volunteer for a charity of their choice.
This year is an exciting one for the programme, with Jonah Charnock from our sales & marketing team heading to Puerto Rico to volunteer in the local communities surrounding San Juan, helping with environmental and sustainability projects. Our 2020 winner, Rachel Harrison, is finally heading to Chiang Mai in Thailand after a cancelled trip due to COVID restrictions. She’ll be supporting reintroducing captive elephants back in their natural environment.
We’ll be following their journeys on our social channels, and we’re excited to see what they get up to!
Thank you Frankie!
