The Royal Institute of International Affairs partners with CTI Digital, for expanding digital reach

Chatham House’s convening power attracts world leaders and the best analysts in their respective fields from across the globe, while its research work focuses on independent and rigorous analysis of critical global, regional and country-specific challenges and opportunities.

The contract brings CTI Digital onboard to provide additional expertise and support for the growing in-house digital function at Chatham House. A key aspect of the organisation’s digital strategy is to share research and knowledge with wider public audiences, and so Chatham House looked to partner with a business who could offer a proven track record supporting its significant digital properties.

This new digital partnership aims to champion the highest standards of accessibility and performance, initially beginning with support and development work on the existing web application.

The win also shows a clear gravitational pull towards the public and third sector for CTI Digital, who now act as the digital pillar for a number of not-for-profit organisations, including War Child UK, The British Council and The Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

As part of its digital roadmap, Chatham House has long been a significant user of Drupal, a premium example of open source software, supported by a global community. Drupal software is continually being built upon by a global community, free of licence fees; this allows for a rate of innovation that can support Chatham House’s development and allows them to keep abreast of new legislation, and enable compliance to accessibility standards and the GDPR.

Paul Johnson, Drupal Director at CTI said:

“We strive to work with organisations that make a positive impact on society and I can think of few better examples than the work done by Chatham House. They join growing numbers of global organisations making long term investments in Drupal. We are delighted to be a big part of that.”

Josie Tree, Head of Digital Strategy and Development at Chatham House said:

“Building our global public audience and sharing our expertise and knowledge with influential people, policy-makers and world leaders has long been a key aspect of our digital strategy. Our new digital partnership with CTI Digital will bring us invaluable expertise in achieving that, and help us remain at the forefront in digital communications.”
