Manchester agency Dark Horse appoints new MD

Manchester-based digital marketing agency Dark Horse has a new set of hands on the reins. 

Starting 2025, John Keating has been unceremoniously booted into the position of CEO and founder where he can work on the ‘vision’ of the agency at a safe distance. Alan Reeves has taken over as Managing Director to work on the doing parts.

Alan actively boasts 17 years of digital marketing experience, jumping into the role directly from his position as Director of Search for Click Consult. He has serviced the likes of Age UK, Boohoo, Capita, Kwik Fit, Lloyds Pharmacy, Nationwide, Tesco and Unibet.

But what was it about Dark Horse that spoke to Alan?

He said: “I’m stoked to be working with such a brilliant and driven team that shares my values and ambition. 

“The determination of our CEO John means we have the platform, agility and support to accelerate growth for Dark Horse and our clients.

“Quickly I’ve realised we have a fantastic foundation of people and clients that we’ll continue to grow by providing forensically good PPC, Paid Social and SEO services. Basically, I thought to myself ‘I can work with that, I can make Dark Horse famous for taking businesses from 7 to 8 figures’.

”It’s all about forensically good performance marketing.”

Speaking on the new appointment, Dave Karellen, Head of PPC said: “I’ve known Alan for years, and when I found out about the coup, I instantly thought of him.”

 

That’s a few more trees sprouting in the Dark Forest. While Dark Horse grows, they vow to leave the planet in a better state than they found it, planting new trees monthly with every new hire and new client to offset their success.
