Interestingly, only 6.25% of respondents mentioned the ’lack of flexible work policies’ as the most significant barrier.

When asked about the most effective ways to support women's advancement in the workplace, both ’ensuring equal opportunities for growth and advancement’ and ’providing support for work-life balance’ stood out, each garnering 31.25% of responses. This demonstrates a strong demand for systemic changes that encourage a more inclusive and equitable working environment. ‘Creating mentorship and sponsorship programmes’ and ’improving visibility and recognition of women's achievements in tech’ were all deemed significant, each noted by 18.75% of respondents.
📊 Accelerating Gender Equality in the Workplace
With 31.25% of the vote, ’targeted development programmes for women's leadership’ received the highest endorsement as an initiative to accelerate gender equality. This was closely followed by more ’transparent hiring and promotion processes’ (25%) as well as ’equal pay policies’ and ’regular diversity and inclusion training for all employees’ (each at 18.75%).
📊Focus of Collective Action in Line With IWD
Reflecting on the theme of International Women's Day 2024, 43.75% of participants chose ‘boosting women's representation in leadership and decision-making roles’ as their key area of collective action. 25% of respondents each supported ’combating gender-based violence and harassment in all forms’, as well as pushing for ’women's health and reproductive rights in workplace regulations’.
