Local Businesswoman, CEO of DreamAgility.com, Elizabeth Clark, has been announced as finalist for ‘Start up Founder of the Year’. Elizabeth’s roots in Engineering go back to starting life as an Electro Hydraulic Armoured Umbilical Designer, she was the first woman to sit on the EEF Lancashire (Engineering Employers Federation) Executive Board in its 120 year history. Now she runs a Technology Transfer company, with the latest product release to be the - PLA Platform, which has attracted interest from the Big 4 to Major Retailers. Elizabeth said “I was one of only a handful of girls in a year of 100+ undergraduates in Engineering, years later I’m still shocked to see how few girls are making it onto Engineering and Computer Science Degrees. My daughter is one of only 2 in her A level class studying computer science. Girls use as much technology as boys, we’re not doing enough to educate them in ALL the choices available to them. The Everywoman in Technology Awards are a great way to get the message out to our girls.”
It’s imperative more girls enter the sector as techUK, aims to significantly grow the tech sector industry to 1.3million jobs by 2020 creating an additional 545,000 jobs*. With 44% of Technology CEOs expected to increase headcount in contrast to 23% across all industries. The FDM everywoman in Technology Awards programme is succeeding in uncovering female role models whose stories will open the eyes of more young girls.
The Awards ceremony will be on the 19th March in London.
