Elizabeth Denham named one of the most influential women in UK tech
Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham has been named as the 4th most influential woman in UK tech in the annual list issued by Computer Weekly.
Elizabeth said: "This is a recognition of modern and smart regulation showing technological innovation and privacy are friends not foes."
The 2020 winner of the accolade Most Influential Woman in UK Technology was Anne-Marie Imafidon, CEO at social enterprise Stemettes, which aims to encourage young women to choose careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

The news of Elizabeth’s accolade comes at the end of the ICO's successful first Tech month which has seen a number of successful launches, including 12 months to go until the Children’s Code comes into force and the first in a series of AI guidance webinars - the first one was virtually attended by over 500 people and a record for an ICO webinar.
