Informed Solutions has been presented with two major honours at the World Information Technology Services Alliances (WITSA) Awards ceremony.
Informed and its client partners were presented with:
- A Global Winner Award for Sustainable Growth for the national roll out of Clean Air Zones with the Government’s Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU), A joint unit between the Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department for Transport (DfT), and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
- A Global Runner-Up Award for Innovative Health Solutions for its work with NHS England towards the development of a new Learn From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) Service, which represents an ambitious step change in patient safety efforts across the NHS.
The Global ICT Excellence Awards is unique in that nominations are made by the national and regional WITSA ICT industry associations from over 80 countries. With unparalleled insight, the most innovative and impact solutions are brought before an independent panel of judges, consisting of select industry leaders and luminaries from key international organizations, corporations, and government entities.
Global Sustainable Growth Award
The Sustainable Growth Category Winner is selected as the best clean growth solution that clearly demonstrates its application the world over.
JAQU and DVLA are charged with delivering HM Government’s legal and policy commitments to improve air quality by reducing levels of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) pollution. A key priority is to work in collaboration with Local Authorities (LAs) to influence changes in motorist behaviour.
In the UK, the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) Framework permits Local Authorities to implement Charging Clean Air Zones as a measure for achieving this. The intent is that the introduction of Charging Clean Air Zones will drive changes in motorist behaviour – such as upgrading to a cleaner vehicle or using public transport – thereby reducing NO2 pollution.
The Central CAZ Service is a national elastically scalable and resilient digital infrastructure. Hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), PaaS and SaaS AWS offerings accelerate and de-risk service delivery, maximise technical quality, and minimise administrative and maintenance overheads. A serverless execution model maximises the solutions’ ability to scale elastically in response to changing demand as more Local Authorities implement Clean Air Zones across England and Wales.
Innovative Health Runner Up Award
The Innovative Health Solutions Award recognizes remarkable and successful efforts at using digital technology to keep citizens healthy.
Recording patient safety events, whether they result in harm or not, provides vital insight into what can go wrong in healthcare and the reasons why, as well as vital learning opportunities that help continually improve safety measures for patients across the UK.
The runner-up award went to NHS England’s Learning From Patient Safety Events Team and Informed Solutions for the development of a new LFPSE Service, which represents an ambitious step change in patient safety efforts across the NHS. With a significant focus on user-centred design, the service will open opportunities to harness artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data-driven insights and foster an open learning culture, which will drive improvements in patient safety standards.
Informed Solutions UK CEO Seth Finegan comments: “We are so proud to be recognised for our work in partnership with JAQU and DVLA, which has seen the creating of a national digital service that not only encourages motorists to change their transport behaviours but also helps local authorities implement and manage their Zones and in doing so, helps our cities become increasingly welcoming and healthy places to live, work, and play.
“We are also delighted that our work with NHS England’s LFPSE team has been recognised for global innovation. We are privileged to be helping the NHS continue to break new ground through the application of novel data science techniques that are helping the NHS learn from patient events in order to keep patients safe in hospital and care environments”.
Her Excellency Ailsa Terry CMG, the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, congratulated Informed Solutions on the awards, and said: “The awards won by Informed Solutions is a recognition of the UK’s digital industry.
