A Little Less Conversation for Startup Social Consultancy WXY

Social media consultancy WXY has launched as the first UK marketing consultancy which allows brands to buy ideas on an e-comm marketplace as it vows to make buying marketing services as easy as ordering an Uber.

The company’s website allows brands to shop and purchase a range of tailored services, which includes creative ideas. WXY will develop creative ideas for £85, allowing brands to execute a plan themselves or hire WXY to get the job done

Marc Young, director and co-founder of WXY, said: “The term ‘agency fees’ has become a murky word and when we formed WXY we had the mentality to make ‘buying’ our services transparent and pain-free.

“We could’ve whacked up a price list on our website, but in an age when we can have food delivered directly to our door or order a taxi in mere moments, we wanted to bring that experience to marketing, PR and social media services.”

Social media will be the cornerstone of the consultancy’s service offering, but it also offers a range of content marketing, experiential and promotion activity for brands to choose from. The marketing duo behind WXY, Gemma Wieczorek and Marc A Young have worked with national and regional agencies and brands. Previously meeting at Cheshire agency back in 2015, the pair formed WXY to deliver work that targets audience attitudes not solely consumer demographics to make successful creative work.

Gemma, director and co-founder, says: “After many chats, creating faux campaigns and trading notes, there is a limit to what we could achieve as individuals either freelance or within agencies. Marc and I have different, skill-sets, different approaches and have a proven record of working well together.”

Specialising in product launches and integrated campaigns for consumer-facing brands, the business has adopted an e-commerce approach, bucking the trend of the more traditional initial of email or phone call. Brands even have the opportunity to add creative ideas to their shopping carts, making the process quicker and easier.

Gemma adds: “We always wanted to be upfront with our pricing and didn’t want to pull the wool over client’s eyes with any hidden costs or hidden markups. We concluded that allowing brands to shop our services online is not only effective but fair too.

“People put a lot of stock in the initial creative, but logistics and being capable of delivering on that idea is fundamental.”
