Carat Manchester Hires Industry Figure

Carat Manchester has appointed a new Group Business Director from leading e-commerce retailer to join its Senior Leadership Team.

Chris Howard will join the Dentsu Aegis Network owned agency in March from his role as Head of Digital at online retailer Shop Direct, where he oversaw the digital strategy for brands including Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com. Reporting into Carat Manchester’s Managing Director, Rachel McDonald, Howard’s appointment sees him join the current leadership team of James Reddington, Charles Reid, Jill Thomas and recent hire, Dani Briers.

Howard, who has also held senior digital roles at eBay and Play.com, will be responsible for driving excellence in digital output across Carat’s growing client base. His expertise in delivering industry leading marketing strategies which drive sales for major ecommerce brands, coupled with his client side experience, will be invaluable in delivering outstanding results for Carat’s clients.

Commenting on his appointment, Howard said:

"I am thrilled to be joining Carat Manchester at this exciting time.  I have seen first-hand the talent and passion across Dentsu Aegis Network, and I know what a massive difference a great agency can make to an advertiser's business.  I can't wait to start working with Rachel and the team.”

Rachel McDonald, Managing Director, Carat Manchester said:

“Chris’ appointment is further evidence of our commitment to recruiting and retaining the very best talent in our industry.  Chris’ experience and credentials make him the ideal addition to our team whilst ensuring we continue to develop our vision of delivering excellence for our clients.”

Howard’s appointment comes at a time when the agency is enjoying significant commercial growth and is evidence of Carat Manchester’s ambitious digital agenda.
