Delineo Creates a New Identity for Salford International Media Festival

Salford International Media Festival is an annual conference run by a collaborative partnership between The University of Salford and leading media bodies. The event unites academia with media professionals including creators, producers, policy makers and broadcasters to share latest knowledge, discuss, debate, inform and challenge issues facing the industry. Since its creation in 1993, Salford International Media Festival has had many guises as it has grown over the years; however for 2014 they required a standalone identity and brand that incorporated elements of The University of Salford but could also be seen as an independent event in its own rights.

Delineo was selected to develop the brand and build a website that would readily reflect the vibrancy and offering of the festival. An umbrella brand, using the University colour pallet was designed along with a new logo and font. The core brand identity was then applied to the each of the three events of the festival, each having their own personality.

The fully responsive website, was built within a very sharp turnaround time of 1 week. This housed the overarching festival brand as well as three separate areas for each of the events. The user experience was integral to the web design and build and all facets of the website were easily accessible via the directory that appeared on each page.

The team at Salford International Media Festival were very responsive and involved which created an excellent partnership.’ The team felt very passionately about the project and therefore Delineo was also keen to be a key sponsor for the event which will take place over 17th-21st November.
