On Thursday 21st April 2022, Manchester Digital hosted its first Fintech Forum event of the year as guests joined us at Manchester Technology Centre for an afternoon of networking and talks delivered by industry experts.
Sponsored by Marsh Commercial, this edition of our Fintech Forum series focused on how fintechs can protect themselves from fraud and cyber threats.

The afternoon's talks were kicked off by Jonathan Brogden and Chris Air of DAC Beachcroft, who discussed fraud in fintech. Their informative talk touched on growth areas such as crypto and the role the FCA has to play, and looked ahead to emerging technologies such as NFTs and the Metaverse.
James Fell, Head of Ventures at Woodhurst then shared practical insights to help manage the impact of cyber threats within a fintech including the likes of:
- ISO27001
- Cyber Essentials
- Penetration Testing
- Active Monitoring
Finally, Barker of event sponsor Marsh Commercial presented on fraud in fintech, and whether this a culture of a technology problem.
