The Galaxy S5 release date, expected in April 2014, could bring consumers a choice between a higher priced, all-metal body S5 or a lower cost plastic model. Rumors have swirled that Samsung could be coming out with a metal flagship smartphone, but now Sammobile claims that a Samsung insider has dished on the details. Perhaps following Apple's lead, Samsung is apparently releasing both a metal and plastic version of its upcoming Galaxy S5.
Last year, Apple released its next-gen iPhone 5s alongside a more budget-friendly, plastic iPhone 5c. The Galaxy S5 release date may see Samsung doing something similar, though Samsung still takes the cake for releasing the most variants of its flagship smartphone line. Besides the Galaxy S5, which is likely to be launched in April, Sammobile also confirmed that a Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom are expected to be launched shortly afterwards.
