The new iBurbia facility features a full suite of consumer TV, Games and Smart devices that can be used for testing, demonstrations and workshops. It dramatically increases the media / tech facilities for the on-site community and those doing business at Media City.
Stephen Wild, managing director MediaCityUK said: “We are pleased that iBurbia Studios have decided to locate the lab within the Greenhouse, as it houses a hot bed of media and creative businesses that are evolving with our city. We look forward to seeing the exciting work coming out of the lab and to the events that the iBurbia team are planning.”
iBurbia’s MD Lizzie Newman said “ it was always our intention to add a MediaCity facilty as it is fast becoming the focal point of TV and service innovation in the North West.” The new facility was launched with a BBC FutureMedia workshop looking at the evolving landscape for TV interactivity. Led by Decipher’s Nigel Walley, the session used live demonstrations of Virgin Tivo, Sky On Demand and a variety of Smart TVs to illustrate the latest interactive TV innovations.
