Innovation is at the very heart of helping businesses to succeed and grow. It is key to building a sustainable and growing economy and can be recognised not just in products and services but also across management processes and business operations.
A report on innovation from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) found that UK businesses invested £124bn on the intangible assets associated with innovation and R&D, with more than the £93bn spent on tangible assets such as buildings, machines and vehicles.
Across Greater Manchester alone, Innovate UK has provided funding for over 600 innovation projects since 2004 and the North West is home to a highly innovative business community that are contributing to new discoveries every day. Across life sciences, digital technology and advanced manufacturing, Manchester is playing a lead role in innovation - from splitting the atom, to the first computer and more recently isolating Graphene, these innovations have been at the forefront of developments that have helped shape the world.
Over the coming months we’re challenging businesses like yours to enter the first ever Innovation 100 with a campaign culminating in 100 Greater Manchester businesses being featured in a special printed report published in early 2018.
Are you part of Greater Manchester’s innovative revolution? If so, now’s your chance to be profiled as one of the 100 most innovative companies in the area.
