Students Invited To Submit Entries To Big Chip Awards
Manchester Digital calls for entries for Little Chip Award
The Big Chip Awards for companies excelling in the use of digital media are calling early this year for submissions of websites, mobile applications and animations from the Norths most creative students.
This years Big Chip Awards were the biggest and best to date with 257 entries from 138 entrants.
The award is open to both work submitted by individual students and collaborative projects produced by a larger group, with work required to be completed between March 2010 and April 2011.
Since their launch in 1997 The Big Chip Awards have established themselves as the premier event for the Norths digital sector.
The winner of last years Little Chip award was University of Central Lancashire student Andreas Linden for his work on the Nosey Parker iphone application for Manchester digital agency Stardotstar.
Each further or higher educational institution can submit one entry from each course and the award is open to both work submitted by individual students and collaborative projects produced by larger groups.
Entries are submitted online at www.bigchipawards.com and are open to any institution in the North of England (North of Derby and South of Scotland). There is no entry fee for this award. The closing date for entries is Friday 4th April.
Shaun Fensom, Chair of Manchester Digital said: The past twelve years have seen the digital sector in the North establish itself as a creative powerhouse, however if we want this growth to continue its vital we work closely with the regions educational institutions. Todays students are the creative pioneers of tomorrow and the Big Chips Little Chip Award is about recognising their achievements and encouraging their continuing development.
This is the second year we have held the Little Chip award and if the high quality of last years entries is anything to go by we anticipate receiving a wide selection of forward-thinking and inspirational submissions.
