Manchester Digital, through its Digital Her programme, is committed to inspiring, empowering and encouraging young women across Greater Manchester to consider careers within the region’s tech and digital sector.
Building upon last year’s success (please find the Digital Her 2019 Impact Report here), Manchester Digital is delighted to announce that it is partnering with Code Nation to offer four fully-funded Women In Tech coding scholarships.
Manchester Digital’s Skills Audit 2020 found that only 16% of the sector’s technical roles are held by women. Our hope is that by partnering with Code Nation, Manchester Digital will help make entering the industry more accessible to women, especially those from diverse backgrounds and educational pathways that might not otherwise have an opportunity to break into the industry.
To be eligible to take part all you need is a desire to learn.
Applications are now open for the 12-week, full-time course.
1st Scholarship - 20th April, deadline 6th April
2nd Scholarship - 18th May, deadline 4th May
3rd Scholarship - 29th June, deadline 15th June
4th Scholarship - 20th July, deadline 6th July
To be in with a chance of securing a scholarship follow this link to tell us why you deserve a place on this initiative.
We'll review entries and the winners will receive a fully-funded place on Code Nation’s 12-week coding bootcamp.
What Code Nation has to say
We're super excited to be working with Manchester Digital as a formal partner to its industry-backed Digital Her programme. Together we'll be providing accessible and fully-funded coding scholarships to create more opportunities for women to enter the digital and tech sector throughout 2020.
The 12-week bootcamp will see scholars learn full-stack software development and master built -n business-readiness elements of the course, such as Kanban boards, delivering stand ups and working on commercial-style projects. Our scholars will graduate with the skills to join over 90% of our students in starting their careers as Junior Developers.
Each scholarship winner will have access to not only our vast network of pledging businesses who hire our grads, but also Manchester Digital's own Digital Future Star's Apprenticeship Programme to further their learning and begin their careers.
We really welcome applications from women of a diverse background and prior coding knowledge is not required to apply! If you think you could benefit from our partnership with Manchester Digital, then we want to hear from them.
