Tuesday 27th October marked our first virtual assessment day for the Manchester Digital Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship Cohort 5.
Using an online platform and numerous breakout rooms throughout the day, we were able to take our apprentice assessment centre online as we brought together some of the most enthusiastic talent looking to break into the digital and technology industry here in Manchester.
Candidates were required to complete a paired coding challenge and a group work task to demonstrate their potential. A whole host of employers from the Manchester tech scene attended and observed candidates doing what they do best. Employers went on to interview those who they thought would fit their business accordingly and several offers have been made so far.
Exciting times for apprenticeships as they are key in business regeneration and upskilling the workforce to meet the needs of the everchanging tech landscape.
We have one more assessment day planning in November, where we’ll be matching another group of our apprenticeship candidates with potential employers. If you’re thinking of taking on a software developer apprentice for your business, there is still time to be involved in our assessment centre - email beccy@manchesterdigital.com for more information and to reserve your place.
