Each year, Manchester Digital commissions the Digital Skills Audit – an important piece of research that steers both government policy and informs Manchester Digital’s strategic decisions.

- Only 36% of people working in the sector are female.
- Only 19% of these women are in technical roles
Our Action – We set up Digital Her - an initiative that will ensure the next generation of women are inspired about working in our industry and empowered enough to change it.

- 49% of companies found developer roles difficult to fill
- 33% of businesses believe software developer apprenticeships failed to prepare apprentices
Our Action – Manchester Digital, with the support of our membership, set out to remedy this situation by creating The Manchester Digital Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship – a unique, industry-backed programme supported by some of the biggest and most well-known brands in the region.
