Member of the Week - Accord Marketing

Accord is an award-winning integrated marketing agency working with businesses in the travel, retail and recruitment sectors. We sat down and asked them a few questions...

1. What does your organisation do?

Accord North is an integrated marketing agency specialising across four sectors - travel, recruitment, charity and the over 50s market. Based in Central Manchester, we work alongside teams in London and Devon to help our clients grow by devising, designing and delivering campaigns that build brands, increase sales and solve their toughest marketing challenges.

2. What do you think is currently the biggest issue facing the digital and tech industry?

The biggest issue for the year ahead is definitely GDPR. With the new regulations being officially implemented in a few months, it is more important than ever for businesses to have a comprehensive and informed data protection strategy that complies with the new requirements, especially when it comes to marketing campaigns that rely on data profiling.

3. What is your organisation's biggest achievement?

While Accord North has had many great achievements over the years, last year was a particularly good year for us when it came to awards. As specialists in the over 50s market, we were very proud to have won a Mature Marketing Award, Silver at the DMAs, as well as being shortlisted in the Northern Marketing Awards and Northern Digital Awards. Long may this winning streak continue!

4. What would you consider to be your organisation's biggest challenge?

Marketing is a fast-paced and constantly-evolving industry, so keeping up-to- date with emerging digital technologies can be a challenge. At Accord, we aim to bring both insight and intelligence to all our marketing recommendations - so for us it’s not about following the latest trend, it’s about using the tools that really add value and generate the most effective results.

5. What do you think the future looks like for Manchester's digital and tech sector?

Manchester is a thriving city, offering a vast range of business opportunities, especially when it comes to digital marketing and tech innovation. Going forward, clients will demand greater transparency and longer-term brand growth - so we will need to shape our products and services to meet their needs and preferences, and to operate flexible commercial models that suit.

6. Tell us something we might not know about your company?

Accord was founded in 1988 as a small, independent, direct response marketing agency, designed to work with businesses that want to grow. Fast forward to 2018 and we now employ over 125 staff across four offices. What hasn’t changed is our approach - a single team with one objective: to maximise our clients’ return on investment whilst taking pride in our professional approach, friendly demeanour and determination to deliver an outstanding service.
