Photolink Creative Group snaps up Hungry Tiger

Photolink Creative Group, based in Ardwick Green since 1977, has swooped for Hungry Tiger. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see Photolink take on Hungry Tiger's 55 staff in the capital.

That will create a combined workforce of 140, with the Manchester's firm's turnover rising from £13m to £16m as a result of the acquisition.

Photolink was founded by fashion photographer David Walter and has a 35,000 sq ft headquarters on the outskirts of Manchester city centre, where it has five studios. It also has a wholly-owned subsidiary in Munbai, which it set up in 2008 and where it now employs 22.

Photolink specialises offers services including web design and PR but specialises in retail photography, with clients including John Lewis, Clarks, Regis Salons, Tesco, Very, Littlewoods, Argos, Homebase and Kitbag.

Over the years, it has worked to produce retail catalogues for the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, with players from the teams dropping into its studios for shoots.

As a result of the deal, Photolink will expand its available studios by a further 16,000 sq ft, taking in Hungry Tiger’s seven studio complex in Fulham.
