Pride Road's Grand Designs Lead To Project Octo

The firm’s business model is focussed on meeting the needs of avid viewers of ‘Grand Designs’, who wish to engage a residential architect to work together to devise a scheme to transform their home into the stuff of dreams.

Pride Road was invented to help people fulfil these ambitions and is the brainchild of RIBA Council member and local entrepreneur Lisa Raynes.

She transformed her solo architectural practice it into a national enterprise, bringing in female architects as franchisees. Like minded women seeking to pursue their passion whilst benefiting from a healthy work / life balance.

“Having been through the challenge of returning to work myself after having children, I knew what it felt like, and how hard it can be fitting your life around working in a traditional architectural practice”, explains Lisa, a former Women In Property NW chairman.

“A lot of really talented women out there are really hungry for a challenge, but struggle to find an employer that can support their child care and living arrangements. It seemed like a great way for me to fulfil my ambitions while helping other women in the same situation”.

Pride Road is already experiencing great success with a franchisee venture opening up in Liverpool. It has expanded into the area in July by teaming up with experienced architect Magdalena Haener, who is handling a significant number of workshop bookings and enquiries.

The association with leading Manchester digital agency Project Octo offers Pride Road the opportunity to take their ambitious business plans to the next level.

Bringing their strategic planning and branding expertise to the table, the agency’s director Adam Pritchard is excited by the prospect of a long term collaboration between the two organisations.

“As Pride Road seeks to raise its profile with both customers aiming to build their dream home, and franchisees seeking an opportunity to work, we can offer them a special mix of strategic thinking, innovation, and enthusiasm that match their ambitious growth plans”.

The contract marks their second in as many months as Project Octo seek to consolidate their position as a fast growing marketing agency based in King Street, at the heart of Manchester’s vibrant digital scene.
