Project Octo win new ECommerce platform business

Digital agency Project Octo is celebrating the migration of another business to its innovative eCommerce platform, Shopit.

The agency has been working with Manchester-based Katy’s Cosmetics for two years, delivering an integrated range of marketing and design services to the company.
Traffic to the Katy’s Cosmetics’s website has increased by 36% year on year, thanks to a sustained campaign of social media and content marketing, including email marketing and blogging, despite working with a cumbersome and outdated platform.

Whilst traffic to Katy’s Cosmetics has shown a healthy and sustained increase, the rise in transactions via the site has been more modest, limited by the company’s out-dated website, which is held back by its functionality, poor search and lack of mobile optimisation.

With 43% of the company’s customers browsing products on mobile devices, Katy’s Cosmetics decided that a change was vital, and turned to Project Octo for advice.

Project Octo’s Project Director, Adam Pritchard, commented:

“Katy’s Cosmetics had gone as far as they could with their previous website. They’re a great company with loads of potential in terms of products but the site isn’t responsive and they’ve been losing potential customers at the last few hurdles.

“By migrating their website to the Shopit platform, Katy’s Cosmetics will be able to offer more features and functionalities to their customers. Transactions will be easier on the streamlined front end, while running the site behind the scenes will be far quicker due to the high level process automation we’ve integrated into the Shopit platform.

“Once the Shopit solution is in place, the team at Katy’s will be free to get on with other tasks rather than spending hours each day managing the huge number of products they stock.”

The Shopit eCommerce solution was designed by Project Octo’s Creative Director, Ketan Mistry, with the aim of actively reducing business owners’ and eCommerce managers’ workloads.

The platform allows for quicker, easier product management, order processing and even email marketing integration, using automated HTML generation to make email newsletters a much simpler task.

The new Katy’s Cosmetics site is set to go live from March this year.
