Attido Mobile’s PassWallet can be used to download virtual event tickets and discount vouchers, allowing users access to concert venues and retail offers.
The Manchester Science Parks firm developed PassWallet in response to Apple’s Passbook app which only works on iPhones. PassWallet is available on Android and BlackBerry platforms, with Windows Phone and Nokia Symbian versions to follow.
Each electronic ticket has a unique code that is scanned by venues and retailers without the need for them to see a traditional paper coupon.
Attido director Andy Nugent said: "Retailers increasingly understand that mobile ticketing is the way forward. When we book things via the internet and receive confirmation via emails, why would the consumer or the retailer want to go to the unnecessary expense and bother of printing out a ticket?"
