Code Club : Help inspire the next generation of digital makers

This month Code Club turned 3 years old, a fact we celebrated with cake, we also reached another milestone with the news that there are currently 2,500 Code Clubs running across the UK attended by a total of 35,000 children.

The news spurs us on as we’d love to get to the point where having an after-school Code Club on the timetable is as common as the appearance of a sports or music club. Here in Manchester there are Code Clubs in 22% of primary schools which is a great start but there are many more schools registered on our website who are looking for a volunteer to help run their club.

It’s now easier than ever to begin running a club with the launch of online & face to face training options plus the ability to visit an existing club to see what it is like. The commitment needed to run a club is one hour per week in the after-school slot, there are usually between 10-15 children present at the clubs and there will be a teacher there at all times. Kids are great, running a Code Club is both rewarding and a whole lot of fun.

Please do get in touch because there are a group of children ready to start their digital making journey and they are just waiting for you.
