Search, analytics and social media conference, SAScon, has added Jeff Coghlan, CEO and founder of digital agency Matmi to its impressive keynote speaker line-up.
Jeff Coghlan founded Matmi in 2001, an award winning digital production studio that specialises in branded entertainment, games, social experiences and app production. It works with a large range of high profile clients including Microsoft, BBC and Philips.
At SAScon, Jeff will be discussing the journey from the mouse to the touch screen and the demise of the computer as we know it. He will explore perceptual computing, technology which allows users to interact with computers and other devices with touch, gesture, eye control, 2D/3D object tracking, voice and speech recognition, and how it is being used in new ways.
Jeff joins Brett Tabke, CEO and founder of Pubcon, and Cindy Krum, CEO and founder of MobileMoxie, on the keynote panel. The influential keynote speakers at SAScon will take part in a panel discussion to discuss the issues facing the digital marketing industry, with key topics to include international paid search and web analytics.
Speaking about his topic, Jeff Coghlan said: “This year we will see the rise of perceptual computing in exhibitions, theme parks and shop windows, with technology that uses gestures and voice recognition to make the interface the person. At SAScon, I will explore how we got to this point from the days of working with nothing but a keyboard, a tape drive and eventually the mouse. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope to give the delegates a fresh perspective on perceptual computing.”
In its fifth year, SAScon is being held at MMU Business School on 5 and 6 June 2014. The two-day event will feature talks from four high regarded keynotes from the industry. It will also comprise of 50 unmissable solo presentations and 30 panels interspersed with networking opportunities, including a post conference social.
Richard Gregory, managing director of Latitude and a founder of SAScon, said: “We’re very excited to announce Jeff Coghlan as a keynote speaker. He is a pioneer in what he does and he’s not afraid to push the boundaries when it comes to digital. This is the second time he will be a keynote at SAScon after he received a great deal of praise in the feedback from last year's event. We expect his discussion will prove extremely popular on the day with delegates.”
