SAScon Adds Iceland’s Andy Thompson To Speaker Line-up

SAScon, the search, analytics and social conference, has announced the final keynote speaker from a well-known frozen food company.

Andy Thompson, online and digital marketing manager at Iceland Foods, will be sharing his thoughts and experiences from working for one of the UK’s most famous and iconic brands.

With experience of online branding, communications and campaigns, Andy will draw from his knowledge of working client-side for over 15 years. Since working with Iceland, Andy has worked on high profile digital campaigns across web, mobile and social media. The digital campaigns have been instrumental in promoting the successful launch of the new online shopping offering from Iceland.

Andy will be joining Brett Tabke, CEO and founder of PubCon, Cindy Krum, CEO and founder of MobileMoxie and Jeff Coghlan, CEO and founder of Matmi on the keynote panel. The influential keynote speakers at SAScon will take part in solo discussions to discuss the issues facing the digital marketing industry, with key topics to include international paid search and web analytics.

Andy commented on his subject of choice: “I’ve decided to speak about how a targeted digital campaign can drive a brand forward, and I’ll be answering questions about my experience with Iceland in particular. I found the last mini-SAScon really useful and I made some valuable connections with the other delegates. It inspired me to speak at this year’s SAScon and I’m hoping my insights on working client-side on a big budget client such as Iceland will spark some lively debates with the key note speakers.”

This year’s conference is being held at MMU Business School on 5 and 6 June 2014. The two-day event will feature talks from four high regarded keynotes from the industry. It will also comprise of 50 unmissable solo presentations and 30 panels interspersed with networking opportunities, including a post conference social.

Richard Gregory, managing director of Latitude and a founder of SAScon, said: “It’s great to have Andy on board at SAScon, as working with a big brand like Iceland will provide an interesting perspective to the panel discussion. Iceland is a fast growing and innovative retailer and we’re looking forward to Andy sharing his online branding and communications campaign tips.

“We’ve now announced all four keynote speakers for SAScon, and we’re really happy with the mix this year. With experts in everything from mobile to Google Glasses, we’re ensuring some interesting discussion points and a melting pot of creative ideas for the delegates.”
