Rob, who is the operations director for SEO and digital content specialist Tecmark, will be responsible for organising and ensuring the smooth running of the event with the rest of the five-strong committee team. He will also be tasked with attracting top keynotes and leading panel speakers to the event, with the aim of increasing ticket sales and ensuring the event is even more engaging and informative for this year’s attendees.
Rob has been working in digital marketing across the North West for over a decade, working for some of the largest agencies in the country such as MediaCom and Latitude. As well as offering his insights at digital events across the globe, he has also written for publications such as the Guardian and provided expert comment on digital marketing for the BBC.
Having been awarded a number of prestigious awards for his work in digital including Media Week’s 30 under 30, and Marketing Campaign of the Year whilst working with The Co-operative Insurance, Rob’s experience and influence lends itself well to attracting engaging speakers to the event.
Commenting on his appointment, Rob said: ‘‘I’ve spoken at SAScon a number of times over the past few years and I feel privileged to now get a chance to work behind the scenes at the event and get involved in an official capacity.
‘‘I’m hoping to bring the delegates something a bit different this year in terms of the speakers we attract. Over my career I have always been inspired by listening to speakers from different industries and sectors and so my aim is to bring this to SAScon this year.
“This year’s event is set to be a good one; we have some fabulous keynote speakers lined up and have arranged a schedule of topics which should mean everyone gets to learn something new!”
Founding member of SAScon, Richard Gregory, added: “Now in its sixth year, SAScon is becoming a bit of an institution when it comes to providing innovative and thought provoking discussions. Throughout his career Rob has proven that he is at the cutting edge of digital development in the North West and, with this in mind, we think he is the perfect fit for the role.’’
