DPDD tutor Rebecca Rand, Barclays Apprentice Rehman Khan Tasawar, and Nour Abunada, DPDD tutor Andrew JepsonIn 2022, The Manchester College launched its Digital T-Level qualifications, and today, we’re thrilled to welcome back two of our first-ever students: Nour Abunada and Rehman Khan Tasawar. Now pursuing Level 6-degree apprenticeships with Barclays, Nour and Rehman are working full-time at the Bank, while studying for their degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. They have returned to inspire the next generation of digital talent at the College as part of the Digital, Production, Design, and Development (DPDD) T-Level competition.
As part of our T-Level program, we like to kick off the year with a software development competition, to give the students a flavour of possible projects they can expect to be working on in the digital sector. Prior to launching the competition, Nour and Rehman, gave an insightful talk to our first- and second-year students. They shared about their life as degree apprentices, their T-Level journey, and why they chose an apprenticeship over traditional university pathways.
Barclays Apprentice, Rehman Khan TasawarRehman emphasised how T levels boosted his apprenticeship application success: “T Levels give you a higher chance of being successful. Most interviews ask about experience, and I was able to pull from my T level placement.”
The session gave our students valuable insights into future options, including application tips, and sources of support to best prepare them for entry into a highly competitive sector. The apprentices will return as judges alongside second-year student reps, bringing the T-Level journey full circle, as they help mentor the new cohort, making the program hard-wired for success.

The return of former students who paved the way is inspirational and demonstrates that the destination is both accessible and nearer than one might think.
It’s fantastic to welcome back two of our original T-Level students who have gone on to further successes at the start of their digital careers.
